An expression of man&#8217;s existential angst in the face of finitude, this mass for the dead confronts us with the ephemeral nature of nature and culture, of man as a species and as an individual. \u2018We must understand and celebrate the end as the flip side of a celebration where the dancing continues. This <em>Missa pro defunctis<\/em> then changes its polarity and meaning\u2019. Romeo Castellucci&#8217;s theatrical vision, carried by Rapha\u00ebl Pichon&#8217;s musical dramaturgy \u2013 which embellishes the work with other religious pieces by Mozart \u2013 will transform this <em>Requiem<\/em> into the ultimate glorification of life.
